Description
Havasu Creek below Mooney Falls requires some bravery to climb through caves and down a knee wobbling ladder/chain system to reach this section of the Havasu Creek. If you have a fear of heights probably this is not for you. It is truly spectacular all along this creek. The blue-green color of the creek is breath-taking and well worth the effort to visit and photograph. Havasu Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls that I have personally had the fortune to see and to photograph. Located in the Grand Canyon on the Havasupai Indian Reservation, "Home of the people of the blue-green water", the entire area is truly rugged and spectacular. Havasu Creek, along with Havasu Falls is the most delightful Aqua Marine Blue color...incredible rock formations surround the creek and the falls. The backpacking trip into and out of this area is not for the faint hearted. Prepare carefully and you will be rewarded with many wonderful scenes such as this one at Havasu Falls.
