Description
Salvador, Brazil is a city of about 2.6 million people. It has a long history...this is where the Slave Ships brought people against their will from Africa. People were bought and sold here for a very long time. The whipping post is still in evidence in this city. These women are Bahai and proudly wear their cultural dress on the streets of this proud city.
In my travels around the world I am often saddened to see the wonderful cultures that were altered or completely destroyed in the name of religion and commerce. All of the Aboriginal People of North and South America were affected by the Europeans...again, many truly wonderful cultures were completely wiped out by Cortez and other sinister bastards. All the way across the Pacific and the Atlantic this tragedy happened.
All that we see now, as with these colorfully beautiful Bahai Women, are just the remnants of proud cultures...Diversity makes us stronger for certain...Stay Strong...
