Description
This is a dangerous reptile IN THE WILD...I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR YOU TO ATTEMPT...With its rattle in the air and in a striking position this Mohave Green Rattlesnake means business. The Mohave Green Rattlesnake is the most aggressive and poisonous of all the Rattlesnakes of North America. It has a whole extra set of neurotoxins that pretty much can cause one to die if bitten. Quick treatment with anti-venom is necessary for this snake's bite which may not be as necessary with the regular prairie rattlesnakes. Best not to take too many chances with either snake as any bit should be treated by professionals. I was thrilled to have an opportunity to see and photograph this snake in the wild near the Kelso Dunes in California, USA.

I sure hope you were using a l-o-n-g telephoto lens!! These are nasty fellas to the tenth power. I live in their territory and everyone uses the utmost caution when out and about, especially when the newest youngsters are active. So glad you got to see one, but yikes! Fabulous image! I would love to post the rest of your snake series if you would care to submit them. L/F Featured in American Desert Southwest.
Bob Christopher replied:
Hi Jane…No, my longest lens at the time was a 80-200mm…Too close I know…Thanks very much for your comments. I certainly appreciate your support very much…Cheers Bob
