Description
The Snowbirds Closing Speed Huge...I am going to research and find the actual closing speed of these two aircraft, and sometimes four aircraft, but I do know it is in the several hundreds of miles an hour. Makes for challenging photography...And Challenging flying...Cheers Bob
Okay, I found on Wikipedia this information... The Snowbirds fly at speeds between 100 knots (190 km/h) and 320 knots (590 km/h), with a separation between aircraft of 1.8 metres (5.9 ft) in many of the formations. When two aircraft perform head-on passes, they aim to be about 10 metres (33 ft) apart.
So, their “Closing Speed” is pretty darn huge...Cheers Bob
