Maui, Hawaii is famous for its winds and surf. Here a windsurfer is enjoying the year round fun.
Windsurfing in the extreme... I love to photograph big wave surfers and windsurfers. This isn't at Jaws but the waves were great anyway..
My inspiration for photographing surfers came from Big Wave Surfer Laird Hamilton who produces some wonderful action sports films showing the beauty of this extreme sport. This off-shore break known as "Jaws" only occurs when you have the right conditions with at least 28 feet of swell. Here a surfer is fortunate to have the opportunity to surf at this world famous location. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to see and photograph this fine wave and the surfers who are up to the challenge...Cheers Bob
