Photographers Notes: A vibrant purple Pickerelweed flower stands tall above a dark water surface, reflected perfectly below alongside its green lily pad. Droplets of water on the lily pad, add to the sense of freshness and tranquility.

Pickerelweed grows up to 3 feet tall sporting tall spikes of tiny white, blue, pink, or purple flowers and long, heart-shaped leaves. They are often found naturally where pickerel fish live, giving this plant its name.
