Description
The Tower of Silence is a wonderful feature within the Wahweap Hoodoos of Southern Utah, USA. The name was originally used by the famous photographer Michael Fatali who created an instant iconic image and location with his work. This location requires a bit of determination as you must hike eight miles in a generally dry river bed to get there. Here the Tower of Silence is back lit creating a different view of this often photographed subject. The Wahweap Hoodoos area is a wonderful place to hike and photograph.

Fantastic photo Bob, and kudos to you for that 8 mile hike!!!...fav/tweet/vote
Bob Christopher replied:
Hi Donna...Thank you very much for your kind words. The hike isn't too hard as you go up a dry stream bed but I appreciate your kudos on it. The main thing is carrying all the gear and there is no shade along the way for the most part. Well worth the effort I think...Cheers Bob

Bob, nice image that creates more questions as one views it longer. What is the growth on top? Is that sandstone? A good piece of photography, congratulations.
Bob Christopher replied:
Hi Skip...Yes, the top rock is slightly harder material and protects the underneath white sandstone which is softer....Thank you very much for your compliment on my image. I appreciate it very much...Cheers Bob
